नेपाल र तिब्बतको सीमा क्षेत्रमा हिमनदी फुट्दा आएको भीषण बाढीका कारण कम्तीमा ६२६ जनाको मृत्यु भएको छ भने करिब ३,००० व्यक्ति बेपत्ता भएका छन्। बुधबार भोटेकोशी र त्रिशूली नदी बेसिनमा आएको यो विपद्ले करिब ९३,००० मानिसलाई प्रभावित पारेको छ र विदुर लगायतका क्षेत्रमा ठूलो क्षति पुर्‍याएको छ। बेपत्ता हुनेहरूमा भारत, अमेरिका, अष्ट्रेलिया र बेलायतका सयौँ पर्यटक तथा तीर्थयात्रीहरू रहेका छन्। उद्धार कार्य जारी रहे पनि नदीमा थुप्रिएको गेग्रान र नयाँ ताल फुट्ने जोखिमका कारण कठिनाइ भइरहेको छ भने संयुक्त राष्ट्र संघले आपतकालीन राहतका लागि २ मिलियन डलर सहयोग उपलब्ध गराएको छ।

    नेपाल र तिब्बतको हिमाली सीमा क्षेत्रमा आएको भीषण बाढी र पहिरोमा परी कम्तीमा नौ जनाको मृत्यु भएको छ भने सयौँ मानिस बेपत्ता भएका छन्। बाढीले नुवाकोट जिल्ला र तिब्बतको गिरोङ काउन्टीमा घर, सडक र जलविद्युत आयोजनाहरूमा ठूलो क्षति पुर्‍याएको छ। बेपत्ता हुने झण्डै ३०० विदेशी नागरिकहरूमा एक अष्ट्रेलियाली पनि रहेका छन् र मृतकको संख्या अझै बढ्न सक्ने अधिकारीहरूले अनुमान गरेका छन्।
