इरानी परराष्ट्र मन्त्रालयले अमेरिकी राष्ट्रपति डोनाल्ड ट्रम्पद्वारा सुरु गरिएको नयाँ आर्थिक प्रतिबन्धको कडा आलोचना गरेको छ। मन्त्रालयका प्रवक्ता इस्माइल बाघेईले यी कदमहरूलाई 'आर्थिक आतंकवाद' र 'मानवता विरुद्धको अपराध' को संज्ञा दिएका छन्। इरानले यी प्रतिबन्धहरूलाई युद्धकै अर्को रूप भन्दै यसले इरानी जनताप्रति अमेरिकाको दशकौँ लामो शत्रुतापूर्ण नीतिलाई निरन्तरता दिएको बताएको छ।
