गत आर्थिक वर्षमा चितवन राष्ट्रिय निकुञ्ज र आसपासको राष्ट्रिय वन क्षेत्रमा गरी कुल २२ वटा एकसिंगे गैँडा मरेका छन्। निकुञ्ज अधिकारीहरूका अनुसार २० वटा गैँडा निकुञ्जभित्र र दुईवटा वन क्षेत्रमा मरेका हुन्। यो तथ्याङ्क असार मसान्तमा सकिएको आर्थिक वर्षको हो। संरक्षण क्षेत्रमा भएका यी मृत्युका कारणहरू पत्ता लगाउन अधिकारीहरूले निगरानी गरिरहेका छन्।
