PM Balen Shah Initiates Squatter Eviction Drive and Administrative Reforms

Prime Minister Balen Shah has launched a major campaign to clear squatter settlements and encroached public land along riverbanks in the Kathmandu Valley. Alongside these infrastructure efforts, the government is implementing administrative reforms, including a proposal to reduce federal ministries from 25 to 17 and curbing double benefits for former officials. While the Supreme Court has sought clarification on the eviction process, PM Shah maintains that genuine landless citizens will be identified and provided with sustainable housing solutions.
